By J. Tupy, Strizovice, Tsjechien, 1984.  

Vigour
Upright growing, with a large crown and strong branches.

Blossom
Mid-season with high quality anther dust. The use of pollinator-trees is required.

Productivity
Early with good yields. Thinning is required in order to reach a good size of the apples.

Picking period
Late September till late October.

Shape
Medium sized with a flat shape, light orange-red blush.

Flavour
Quite sour, Topaz needs to be stored (at least one month) for a better taste. After storage Red Toaz has a sweet-sour aromatic taste with firm and juicy pulp.

Shelf life
Storage is possible till late April (under ULO-conditions) combined with a very good shelf life. The peel is slightly greasy after storage.
